I just wrapped up a stretch of three weeks of school visits, plus attending the Enrollment Management Association conference. This admissions cycle is busy but it feels different than prior years. As I’ve compared notes with trusted colleagues, I’m struck by how often families want to zero in on fee structures when deciding on a consultant. I get it! This is a big investment. But here’s the truth, parents: if you’re comparing consultants on price alone, you’re focusing on the wrong thing!

This time of year is full of transitions—graduations, new schools, summer camp, and other fresh starts! It’s a lot like learning to ride a bike: a little wobbly at first, but full of promise. Last week on my walk I saw a little girl learning to ride her bike, and it brought me right back—to my own kids, and to the students I work with who are stepping into something new. Graduating, changing schools, heading off to college—it’s all part of the ride! So this week, I wrote about scraped knees, second tries, and the courage it takes to keep going.
